Mainz is a 2000 year old city full of culture and is wine capital of germany. Nearby you can find the biggest and most innovative german wine area. There is so much to discover: ancient roman sights, Marc Chagalls Blue Windows, the Upper Middle Rhine valley with the highest density of castles and Ruins in Europe and famous Loreley Rock, termal spas and pools, Hiking trails, bicicle tours, boat trips. Heidelberg is only 1h drive.
There are lots of interesting things for kids, too: Adventure climbing in Sea of Rocks or Middle Rhine valley, feeling like a knight or princess in one of the many castles, go by cable car in Rüdesheim or Wiesbaden... For summer, there is a very big public pool only some minutes from our house, and some lakes in the surroundings (40-50 min drive).

We live in a modern new built house (2011) with a wonderful nature garden in the outskirts of Mainz. In only 200m distance you find a tram and bus station (12 min to city centre with the famous cathedral and 15 min to the river rhine, 10 min to train station), next supermarket 800m. By bike, it takes you 20 min to the city. Staying at our house, you can use our 2 adult bicycles with or without a Chariot bike trailer (2 Seats, up to 10 years) and several children’s vehicles. In the garden we have sand and water playing areas for the children. Several playgrounds are nearby.

From May-September we hae an above-ground pool (diameter 3,66m). There is also a big trampoline in the garden.

Our house offers you one master bedroom with a double bed (160x 200cm). There are 2 childrens rooms, one with a raised bed (90x200) and a convertable Sofa bed (140x200cm) and the other one with a convertable Sofa bei (180x200). On the ground floor there is a small home office with a double bedsofa (140 x 200cm) with excellent boxspring mattresses. If necessary, we have additional mattresses which can be put on the floor. There are two bathrooms.

Mainz am Rhein vereint jahrtausendealte Kultur, Lebensfreude und ist Weinhauptstadt Deutschlands. Vor den Toren der Stadt liegt das größte und innovativste deutsche Weinanbaugebiet Rheinhessens mit zahlreichen Winzern.
Es gibt viel zu erleben und zu sehen: Römische Bauten, Schiffe und andere Fundstücke, Chagalls Blaue Fenster, das Unesco Weltkulturerbe Mittelrheintal mit der höchsten Dichte an Burgen in Europa und der Loreley, Thermalbäder, aussichtsreiche Wanderwege von gemütlich bis abenteuerlich, Klettermöglichkeiten, schöne Radwege (starten direkt bei uns am Haus), Dampferfahrten. Heidelberg (60 min), Frankfurt (40 min) und Wiesbaden (15 min) sind nah und sowohl mit dem Auto als auch Zug gut zu erreichen.
Auch für Kinder gibt es Spannendes: Sie können sich in einer der Burgen als Prinzessin oder Ritter fühlen oder unterirdische Labyrinthe erkunden, im Felsenmeer oder im Mittelrheital klettern, im Druckladen selber drucken, in Wiesbaden oder Rüdesheim mit der Seibahn fahren, ... Im Sommer kann man sich im Freibead wenige Minuten von unsere Haus abkühlen. In der weiteren Umgebung gibt es auch Badeseen (50 min. mit dem Auto)

Wir wohnen in einem modernen Neubau (2011) mit naturnahem Garten in Stadtrandlage von Mainz. In 200 m Entfernung ist eine Bus- und eine Straßenbahnhaltestelle (Fahrzeit in die City mit dem Dom ist 12 min. und 15 min. an den Rhein, 10 Minuten zum Bahnhof), zum nächsten Supermarkt sind es 800m. Mit dem Fahrrad fährt man 15 min in die City. Als Gäste könnt Ihr unsere 3 Fahrräder für Erwachsene und ein Kinderfahrrad mitbenutzen.
Es gibt ein Elternschlafzimmer mit Doppelbett (160x200cm) sowie zwei Kinderschlafzimmer: eines mit Podestbett (Liegefläche 90x200cm) sowie ein Sofabett (140x200cm) und in dem anderen ist auch ein Sofabett (180x200 cm). Im Erdgeschoss gibt es einen kleineren Raum mit einem weiteren Gästebett (140x200cm). Es gibt 2 Bäder.
