Welcome to our timberhouse.
Willkommen in unserem Holzhaus.
We are a family with 2 adults and two boys (aged 16 and 18) who would like to swap our house during german school holidays with an other family. During 3 weeks in summer, around eastern or/and in autumn and a week in January we are able to swap our house. Besides that you are welcome to visit us in the Rhine Valley the whole year if there are not other guests at that point of time. We can host two persons in our newly renovated barn. The building offers a sleeping room under the roof (for 2 persons on a sofa-bed) and a bath with a shower. My wife has her office in the ground floor where you also find a water cooker for making tea and a coffee machine.

Wir sind eine vierköpfige Familie. Mama (49 J.), Papa (51 J.), großer Junge (18 J.) und kleinerer Junge (16 J.), die ihr Haus gerne mit einer anderen Familie tauschen würde. Neben dem Haupthauses befindet sich eine neu renovierte Scheune welche auch außerhalb eines Tausches eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit unter dem Dach sowie Bad im EG für 2 Personen darstellt. Allerdings befindet sich in diesem Gebäude auch unsere Büros.

You can reach our house very easily from the two close-by airports Frankfurt Hahn (within 45min) and Frankfurt Main (within 55min). Located in the romantic "Upper Middle Rhine Valley" (https://worldheritagegermany.com/upper-middle-rhine-valley/) you will find lots of castles and manor houses in our neighborhood. The famous hiking trail Rheinsteig (https://www.rheinsteig.de/der-rheinsteig/home/) runs along the right bank of the river Rhine between Bonn, Koblenz und Wiesbaden along predominantly narrow paths and challenging inclines, uphill and downhill, leading to forests, vineyards and spectacular views. This exceptionally well sign-posted and closely networked trail offers opportunities for ambitious long-distance walking tours or for a variety of short tours. Our house is situated directly next to the trail. Rüdesheim and the Loreley are further touristic highlights within 15 driving minutes.

Das Haus ist sowohl vom Flughafen Frankfurt (Hahn) in ca. 45min als auch von Frankfurt International in ca. 55min leicht und bequem zu erreichen. Das Haus liegt mitten im romantischen Weltkulturerbe Mittelrheintal mit seinen vielen Burgen und Schlössern. Der zwischen Bonn und Wiesbaden am Rhein entlangführende Rheinsteig führt direkt an unserem Haus vorbei.  Mit der Loreley, Bacharach und Rüdesheim am Rhein liegen touristische Hochburgen (jeweils 15km) in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Despite the quitely location of our house at the egde of our small town Lorch am Rhein there are a many more historical towns (Cologne, Bonn, Worms, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Heidelberg, Trier, Speyer and Koblenz) very easy to reach by car and train. In the town centre you will find bakeries, health centre, farmacy, post office, train station, supermarket with a butcher, restaurants (Pizza and traditional German food) and a lot of small wineries.

Trotz der ruhigen Lage am Rande einer Kleinstadt (Lorch am Rhein) sind viele historische Städte (Köln, Bonn, Worms, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Heidelberg, Trier, Speyer, Koblenz) bequem mit dem Auto als auch mit dem Zug zu erreichen.
Besides the highlights mentioned above you will find a lot of other leisure activities: Tennis, Biking, water sports, Golf, Water rafting, fishing, bird watching, climbing, gliding, wine tastings, and cities with Bundesliga and other cultural events and festivals. For families with young children you will find zoo's, swimming pools, lakes, leisure parks, play grounds near by.
Außer vielen attraktiven Wanderwegen (auch neben dem Rheinsteig), zahllosen Burgen und Schlössern bietet unsere Region noch folgende Möglichkeiten: Wassersport, Tennis, Tischtennis, Mountainbiking, Bootsausflüge auf Rhein und Mosel, Bundesligastandorte in Mainz, Frankfurt, Köln und Kaiserslautern, Angebote für Kinder (Tierparks, Spielplätze auf dem Landesgartenschaugelände in Bingen), Zoos in Frankfurt und Königstein.

Our ecologically built house is very appropriate for people with allergies. Families with children will find a lot of playing opportunities around the house for the kids f.e. a lage trampoline, fire place, climbing trees, bikes longboards, scooter,... (have a look to the fotos).

The house has 4 bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and two has a single. There is also 1 sofa-bed and under-bed mattresses giving plenty of sleeping options. The master bedroom has a bathroom at the ground floor, the two top floor bedrooms have their own bathroom. The 4th bedroom is in the renovated barn with a sofa-bed and a own bathroom.

Unser ökologisch gebautes Haus, ist für Allergiker besonders gut geeignet und bietet für Familien mit Kinder viele Möglichkeiten (siehe Fotos). Neben den zahlreichen Fahrrädern stehen zwei Roller und Longboards aus eigener Herstellung zur Verfügung. Das eingefasste Grundstück sowie der angrenzende Garten mit Feuerstelle und Bauwagen sowie Trampolin bieten vielfältige Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten für Eure Kinder.
Because of the forrest within walking distance you will have lots of contacts to the local fauna and flora. Our surrounding is a birdwatching paradise and even the deers pass by in front of te window in the mornings.
Mit seiner Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Wald habt Ihr als Bewohner direkten Kontakt mit der örtlichen Fauna und Flora. Birdwatcher werden voll auf ihre Kosten kommen, da auch ein Vogelschutzgebiet auf einer Insel im Rhein keine 300m entfernt ist.
Besides the wild animals outside we have two residents. Our two cats stay and sometimes sleep in the house. They need to be fed and hugged once or twice a day. If they like you they will bring little "presents" which they put on the doorstep.
Neben den wildlebenden Arten gibt es noch zwei Residents. Unsere zwei Katzen sind sowohl drinnen als auch draussen und möchten gerne gefüttert und umsorgt werden. Sie sind erstklassige Mäusefänger und bringen diese hin und wieder als Geschenke mit.
