A nice chalet in the swiss alps in Valais in a small village ideal for walking and skiing
Le chalet se trouve dans la commune d'Orsières dans un petit de village de 35 habitants situé dans le Val Ferret. C'est un vrai chalet de montagne alliant tradition et modernité que j'ai personnellement transformé. Il possède un grand balcon en bois qui donne sur le jardin et la rivière qui coule en contrebas. La destination est idéale en hiver pour faire du ski (piste, randonnée, fond) et toute l'année pour faire des randonnées dans une nature sauvage et observer la riche faune et flore de la région du St-Bernard. Il est possible d'accéder au logement en transports publics et en voiture à 20 minutes de Martigny, 1h de Chamonix et 1h d'Aoste.
The chalet is sitting in a small village of 35 people in the Val Ferret in Canton of Valais. It is a typically wooden mountain house that mixed tradition and modernity. I renovate it by myself. It owned a big wood balcony that overlooks the river and the garden. The destination is really good to enjoy the walking and skiing (2 small family resort call La Fouly and Champex are at 10 min by car and the famous Verbier resort is at 20 min). You can easily watch wild animals and admire a rich flora of the St-Bernard aresa. It is possible to reach the place with public transports and by car in 20 min of Martigny, 1h of Chamonix and 1h of Aosta.

Le chalet se situant dans un petit village du Val Ferret entouré de forêts, pâturages, montagnes, glaciers. Il est possible de partir directement à pied pour aller admirer la flore exceptionnelle et la faune sauvage (chamois, bouquetins, cerfs, chevreuils, marmottes, aigles, gypaètes,...). Beaucoup de sentiers s'offrent à vous et vous pourrez découvrir divers refuges de montagne (cabane de Saleinaz, d'Orny, de Trient, de la Neuve et un peu plus loin cabane du Vélan, de Valsorey, de Panossière, de Brunet, de Louvie,....., ainsi que plusieurs alpages. Les stations de Champex (11 km) et la Fouly (8 km) sont toutes proches et offrent toutes les commodités pour pratiquer les activités hivernales (ski de piste, fond, randonnée, luge,...) ou estivales ( rando, pédalo, paddle, natation, tennis, sentiers suspendus dans les arbres, tyroliennes, vtt, trottinette,....). A 25 km se trouvent la station de Verbier (ski) et la ville de Martigny (musée du St-Bernard, Gianadda, cinema,...)
The chalet is located in a small village in the Val Ferret surrounded by forests, pastures, mountains, glaciers. It is possible to go walking directly from the house to admire the exceptionnal flora and wild fauna ( chamois, ibex, deer, marmot, eagle, vulture,...). Many footpath are possible and you can discover different refuges ( Salainaz, Orny, Trient, La Neuve and a little further Vélan, Valsorey, Panossière, Brunet, Louvie,... and a lot of alp. The resort of Champex (11 km) and La Fouly (8 km) are really near and offer many possibility to practice winter activities (skiing, cross-country, sledge,....) and summer activities (walking, paddle, pédalo, swiming, tennis, aerial walkway in the trees, zipline, mountain bikes, scooting,...). The resort of Verbier (skiing) and the town of Martigny (museum Gianadda, St-Bernard and cinema,...) are both at 25 km.

Perfect exchange, easy and efficient communication, everything was as agreed. We had a wonderful time at Chantal’s house and even had the chance to meet, which was really nice.

We were quite overwhelmed by the charm and beauty of Chantals house, the village of Les Arlaches and the nature surrounding it. For hikers like us, this was the perfect spot for our holiday and using public transport was much easier than we had expected. We got all the information and help we needed from both Chantal and her very helpful and kind friends on location. We had a fantastic holiday and would absolutely recommend others to make a home exchange with Chantal!
Nous avons pu préparer cette échange avec beaucoup de sérénité et de cordialité. Nous avons eu la possibilité de faire connaissance c'était très agréable. Nous avons apprécié d'être dans un chalet vraiment typique de région et très confortable. L’accès aux randonnées de montagne est vraiment très agréable. Chantal et Jean Paul ont pris beaucoup de soins de notre maison et ont pu apprécier la mer
