Flat in northern part of Amsterdam, Netherlands
We live in this house since July 2016 and we love it! The building is completed in 2016 and mainly made of wood and has received several awards for its design and the standard of sustainability. It is positioned in an area which only a couple of decades ago was famous for its shipbuilding. Our apartment is on the second floor to be reached by elevator or stairs. It has a large living room with kitchen and diner table. We love to cook and make diners for our friends and family, so the kitchen is well equipped. We have a master bedroom with a lovely double bed (180x210). Our bathroom is down the hall with a toilet, a shower and two sinks. The second bedroom has a bed for one person or in extended position 180x200 and its own bathroom with shower, a sink and toilet. Of course we also have a washing machine and dryer. There are two large balconies to enjoy sun or shade. We have friendly neighbors who are always willing to help you.

Dichtstbijzijnde luchthaven: schiphol airport - 25 km
The area is upcoming. There is a lot of building activity. We look out over a broad canal where a sustainable floating neighborhood is laying in, which is called "Schoonschip". Round the corner are several self-build plots and it is fascinating to see how inventive people are. The nearest shops are 1km away. There are several restaurants nearby. We leave you a list with all the nice hang-outs.

Over onze familie
Hi!
We are Peter and Sandra, born in 1955 and 1961. Peter is an entrepreneur and works in the public sector as management consultant and has a special interest in sustainability. I am working as a civil servant for the city of Amsterdam. We have three children and five grandchildren, which is lot of fun! Our youngest son is sometimes traveling with us.
We love to travel and explore cities. Visit musea and galleries, and of course try new kitchens. Since this is our only house we can only exchange simultaneous.

BE065Magnifique appartement ultra moderne et très spacieux au 2e étage d’un immeuble en bois donnant sur un quai bordé d’une communauté de maisons flottantes. Rien qu’à lui seul, tout ce quartier nord d’Amsterdam, à l’écart des grands centres (trop) touristiques, vaut la peine d’être découvert pour sa modernité et son cachet authentique. Il est cependant bien desservi par différents moyens de transport ( bus, métro, ferry). Couple accueillant ( fleurs, vin, chocolats) et très soigneux, tant chez eux que chez nous. Un échange de nouvel an rehaussé par 2 concerts au Concert Gebouw dont nous garderons un excellent souvenir! Nos amis sont les bienvenus en été s’ils le souhaitent!

Sandra and Peter were exceptionally kind, friendly, and excellent communicators, making me feel welcomed and comfortable. They went above and beyond by leaving me gorgeous sweet and savory treats, as well as a lovely bottle of wine. They kindly let me use their bicycles also. Upon returning to my own home, I found it immaculate, reflecting the care and respect they showed throughout my stay.
